Screen &Design: Reading Film as A Constructed Language of Form

Grafis Masa Kini and Double Happiness present Screen &Design, a conversation about something we often feel in cinema but rarely pause to name: its design.

Design practice lives within the films we watch; it shapes the color of a room, the textures of wardrobes, and the typography of a title card presented in frame. Film has always been constructed and dependent on design through intentional (oftentimes, collaborative) creative decisions. Screen & Design will bring film and design into the same room to unpack the decisions made off-screen through an intimate talk with Edwin (Film Director), Dita Gambiro (Production Designer), and Evan Wijaya (Graphic Designer). Together, we will read film as a designed experience, explore production, visual identity, spatial storytelling, and the thinking behind what appears on screen.

This event invites creatives, students, and curious audiences to look closer, to understand how design thinking shapes film. Join us at Screen &Design!
