Making The Mark: D&AD 2025 Winners Exhibition Opens a Global Design Dialogue in Jakarta
For years, the Indonesian Graphic Designers Association (ADGI) has long maintained a strong partnership with D&AD (Design and Art Direction, London). Their long-standing collaboration is celebrated with the opening of Making The Mark: The D&AD 2025 Winners Exhibition, as part of the pre-event series leading up to ADGI Design Week 2025. The show officially opened on October 15, 2025, and unravelled a selected array of top works by D&AD Awards 2025 winners across the globe. Jakarta serves as the first stop of the touring exhibition before it continues to Taipei and Tokyo, marking a significant rise of Indonesia’s design community amongst the international creative network.
The D&AD Awards is among the most established honours within the creative world. Since its founding in 1962, the initiative has been widely respected for celebrating outstanding ideas and execution in design and advertising. Through Making The Mark, Indonesian audiences have the opportunity to experience the curation of the D&AD Awards 2025 catalogue, spanning categories such as branding, packaging design, editorial design, typography, and more.
The exhibition offers visitors a comprehensive look at today’s global creative landscape, featuring works that are not only visually innovative but also challenge conventional ways of thinking about visual communication.
“Making The Mark is more than an exhibition —it’s a space for dialogue that brings together ideas, processes, and creative values from around the world that can be appreciated universally,” said Ritchie Ned Hansel, Chairman of ADGI. “We hope young Indonesian designers can witness the global standard of design practice firsthand and find inspiration to keep growing.”
Held at Museum Koleksi, Taman Ismail Marzuki, Jakarta, until 19 October 2025, the exhibition is part of the Road to ADGI Design Week 2025 program, a series of events leading up to ADGI’s annual design week in November. Through this initiative, ADGI aims to strengthen Indonesia’s design ecosystem by fostering cross-border collaboration and idea exchange. By hosting an international-standard exhibition like Making The Mark, ADGI hopes to encourage local practitioners to gain confidence in positioning Indonesian design on the global stage.
“This collaboration with D&AD marks an important milestone for Indonesia’s design ecosystem.” added Primo Rizky, Director of Strategic Communications of ADGI. “We are no longer mere spectators, but active participants in the global conversation on the future of design.”
