NSight Returns, Bridging Indonesian and Italian Design Through Paper, Print, and Publishing
Following the success of its first edition, the design forum NSight returns this year with NSight Vol. 2: Italian–Indonesian Design Mingle. Organized by NStudio in collaboration with Fedrigoni, the renowned Italian paper manufacturer, the event will take place on Saturday, August 23, 2025, at gripastudio, Jakarta. It will also be available to join online. Carrying the spirit of cross-cultural exchange between the two countries, NSight Vol. 2 is designed as a meeting ground for creative professionals from both Indonesia and Italy.
In its second edition, the forum will focus on dialogue around paper, print, and publishing: three elements that have long served as essential mediums in the world of design and visual communication. Through a series of discussions, speakers from both nations will share their perspectives, experiences, and practices. The event is aimed at professional designers and welcomes students, emerging practitioners, and anyone interested in design.
To deepen its exploration, NSight Vol. 2 is divided into three main sessions:
Paper in Sustainable Practice: This session explores eco-conscious design strategies and the use of sustainable materials in visual communication. The speakers are Fedrigoni (Italy) and Andreas Junus of The 1984 (Indonesia).
Pages in Print: Taking participants on the journey of book-making—from writing and design to publishing—this session will feature insights from Margherita Rubini (Italy) and Jordan Marzuki of Jordan, jordan Édition (Indonesia).
Press and Process: A studio-focused discussion revealing printing techniques and processes, ranging from letterpress to risograph. Speakers: Irawandhani Kamarga of Binatang Press (Indonesia) and Atto (Italy).
NSight Vol. 2 marks an important step in broadening cross-national design networks. By bringing together the experiences of creators from Italy and Indonesia, the event provides space to reflect on how culture shapes, influences, and enriches the design process.
