Looking Back at the Excitement of Melipir Edition 04 in Semarang

After successfully organizing Melipir events in Surakarta, Denpasar, and Cirebon, the fourth edition of Melipir made its way to Semarang, in collaboration with Bergrafis and Collabox Creative Hub. For The 1984, Melipir represents an opportunity to open up numerous avenues and collaborations in the form of education, networking, and transactions with the creative community in Semarang.

Over the course of two days, a variety of workshops and discussions were held with friends in Semarang. Workshops ranged from Font Making Basics with Locomotype, Fun Zine Making Workshop with Terlalu Ghibah, Pot-Painting Workshop with Kinan, to Embroidering Good Mantras with Teliti. These sessions aimed to share knowledge and experience around creativity. Discussions covered diverse topics such as running a design studio with Shady Dhamar from O-Sik Works, the journey from graphic designer to creative director in the fashion industry with Vincentius Adi from Tinctori, ideation in illustration creation with M Fachturofi, the process of designing film posters with Evan Wijaya, workflow in the digital illustration world with RimbaHD from Sonderflex, organizing the Yogyakarta Art Book Fair with Daud Sihombing, Reza Kutjh, Ute, and Syafiatudina, and tips from The 1984 team on how to correspond, become a multidisciplinary designer, project management workshops, and portfolio review sessions to help participants create good and representative portfolios.
