Liga Cetak Offers a New Way for the Creative Community to Meet Beyond the Studio
Creative professionals now have a new place to gather, connect, and build relationships without having to sit behind a studio desk. Double Happiness has introduced Liga Cetak, a mini soccer tournament that brings together practitioners from across Indonesia's creative industry on the same football pitch.
The inaugural edition of Liga Cetak took place on July 4–5 at The Forum in Bintaro, South Jakarta. Competing teams represented a wide range of creative practices: Binatang Press, Kamengski, Cipsi, Lamunai Records, Kolibri Rekords, Halftime Speech, The Soccer Tribune, and XGraphics. Through this event, mini soccer was positioned as more than just a sports competition. Instead, it became a platform where a shared passion for the game could be translated into different forms of creative expression.
"We see Jakarta as a city with countless opportunities for the creative industry to come together, a true melting pot at every corner. This time, Double Happiness created an event that brings together Indonesia's creatives in the same field, not only to produce great work, but also to score goals. That's why the experience extends far beyond the pitch," Double Happiness wrote in its official press release.
Beyond the matches, Liga Cetak, an event open to the public, also featured a pop-up space where each participating team could showcase, introduce, and sell their work to visitors. While watching creative practitioners compete on the field, visitors could also browse independent books, music releases, merchandise, printed works, and a wide range of creative products that reflected the identity of each participating community. In this way, Liga Cetak became a meeting point where competition, creativity, and community came together in a single, shared experience.
The choice of The Forum as the venue was integral to the event's concept. Long recognized as a hub for community activities, sports, and creative culture, The Forum provided the ideal setting for the cross-disciplinary gathering that Liga Cetak set out to create. Located in Bintaro, the venue allowed football matches and creative activities to unfold side by side, each retaining its own distinct character.
For Double Happiness, Liga Cetak is an extension of its vision to create spaces where individuals and communities can connect through shared interests, culture, and collective experiences. While creative communities have traditionally come together through the work they produce, Liga Cetak offers a different approach: meeting first as people, in a very human way, allowing collaboration to emerge naturally from there.
