Celebrating Cycling Culture with VeloPoster

Last Thursday (18/01), Bintang Press! and Kemalriza Gibranos launched their VeloPoster exhibition held at Ashta District 8, Jakarta. The exhibition celebrates cycling and the communities built around it as an extension of their Gowezine publication series. With a total of 30 participating artists, the exhibition showcased the rather significant overlap of creative practitioners and cycling enthusiasts.

The works displayed were created in a variety of mediums with the creative’s love of the sport as the ribbon that ties the event together. Exhibiting artists include Adi Stereoflow, Dicky Saputra, Hauritsa, Sanchia, Arswandaru, Mahaputra Vito, Nugraha Aga, Saleh Hussein, Gibranos, Joew, Abenk Alter, Trackjekarda, Anggarez, Lampurino, Ratta Bill, Gerry Rezaldi, Zimpanzu, Proyek Okupasi, Velolove, Bujangan Urban, Bulletos, Sir Dandy, Awan Simatupang, Laminggi, Rukmunal Hakim, Jimi Multhazam, Alphabad, Coti, Briannixa, and Kingcula.

The exhibition also took an interactive approach with visitors being invited to answer questions around cycling like “Which city is the safest city for cyclists?” or “How often do you go cycling in a week?” with stickers and sticky notes. The launch also hosted a live screen printing area with Sekolah Sablon Indonesia. VeloPoster is further livened up with talks, linocut workshops, and themed cycling tours around the city. You can still join these group cycling tours hosted by Bike to Fez held on January 28, February 4, and February 11. The exhibition is open to visitors until February 11, 2024.
